NEW TRAINING
04/26/2010
Our new Mock Inspection Class Schedule is NOW Available.
We have just posted our first schedule of Mock Inspection Classes on 04/26/2010. Please see below for more details.
PaRR Inspections is excited to announce our new and enhanced training curriculum for prospective and certified inspectors! Please see below for an overview…
Prospective Inspectors:
Effective immediately, the former Basic Certification Class that has served PaRR so well over the years is being "retired", to be replaced by our more accessible and comprehensive online training via the PaRR website. The steps for new inspectors are as follows:
1. First, look over the "New Inspector FAQ’s". This will help you decide if this business is right for you, and if you want to invest the time in pursuing certification.
2. Second, fill out a brief online application. This gets you into our system and provides us with your contact information.
3. Third, we give you a Username and Password that will allow you to access the secure section of the PaRR website.
4. Now you’re ready to begin your training! You’ll start with the basics, and move through progressively more detailed information, covering a wide range of interesting topics you’ll need to know in order to become an effective disaster housing inspector.
5. After completing the core courses, you’ll be eligible to proceed to more complex online training and quizzes which will test your knowledge and sense of humor.
6. After completing the Big Picture curriculum you will be prompted to fill out a few forms to receive your PaRR Inspector id and submit an SF85p background check worksheet to start the first stage of your background check process.
7. Once your background check worksheet has been approved, you’ll also be eligible to attend a Mock Inspection Class scheduled in your area, where you can try your hand at inspecting in a 4-room mock-up home with simulated damages.
Certified Inspectors (with and without experience):
We thank you for all the training you have completed to date, both online and classroom. As we all know, FEMA guidelines are ever-changing, and it is important that all of our inspectors are on the same page with the most current information. For this reason, we ask all of our certified inspectors to complete all of the new online training and Mock Inspection Classes, just as if you were a new inspector. You do not have to fill out a new application, however, and your Username and Password will stay the same. All you have to do to register for the Mock Inspection Class is to, first, complete the Big Picture curriculum. Second, if you have not yet done so, submit an SF85p worksheet as part of the background investigation process. (If your e-QIP has already been initiated or you have completed the e-QIP process, you do not need to submit the SF-85p worksheet.) Third, you must have all of your forms (W-9, ICA, and NDA) updated for the current year to register for the Mock Inspection Class.
We developed the training with you firmly in mind, and we think you’ll enjoy reviewing the material in its new format...we predict you’ll even learn a thing or two!
