Free Online and Classroom Training

PaRR Inspections offers online and classroom training for new inspectors as well as advanced training for continuing education of experienced inspectors. Did we mention that it is all provided free of charge?

After you have completed your application to PaRR, you become eligible for training of various kinds.

  • PaRR Online Training

You should begin this immediately. It provides an excellent introduction and details of every aspect of working with PaRR as an inspection contractor. It shows you the ropes--giving you actual online practice with simulated inspection software. Though much of your success will depend on your previous construction and inspection experience, Online Training covers the things you'll need to know to become an outstanding inspection contractor.

After taking the online training, you may even decide that disaster housing inspection isn't your cup of tea. It would be good to find out right away whether you will love it--like our inspectors do--or not.

  • Fingerprint Sessions

These are designed for those new inspector candidates who need to have their fingerprints taken and submitted to FEMA for the required FBI fingerprint background check. By attending this class, you will:
    • Have your fingerprints taken by PaRR personnel, free of charge
    • Meet one of our Recruiter/Trainers.
Although you don't need to have completed PaRR Online Training to sign up or attend a Fingerprint Session, we recommend it.

  • Mock Inspection Classes

This is the flagship class of PaRR's training. These classes go into depth, with interactive lectures, and hands-on training using inspection hardware and software. It is also a great place to meet and talk to experienced inspectors, who come for refreshers.

The Mock Inspection Portable Disaster Structure is used in our Mock Inspection classes to enhance our training. It is a mock up of a damaged dwelling and gives the inspector the ability to perform a practice inspection on a structure. It simulates a typical inspection scenario that you might meet out in the field. You enter inspection data on the computer, giving you a chance to get comfortable with the hardware and software. Later, you find out how accurately you have recorded the damage.

Registration for a Mock Inspection class requires prior completion of PaRR Online Training.
